Veterans Clinic
The Lawyer of the Day program is an outreach activity of the Monroe County Bar Association (MCBA) Veterans Committee. Working in close collaboration with JustCause, the Veterans Outreach Center (VOC), and volunteer attorneys, the program provides veterans onsite legal consultations.
After an initial screening, veterans are provided legal advice and representation to address their specific legal matters. The common areas of inquiry include family law, housing, bankruptcy, benefits, employment, heath law and more.

Immigration
The Immigration Rights Pro Bono Program, through a network of dedicated volunteer attorneys, offers free legal assistance and pro se clinics to immigrants seeking help with a wide range of immigration matters throughout Monroe County and surrounding counties.
Our Immigration Unit assists with a number of issues including but not limited to; Citizenship, Permanent Residence Applications, DACA, Temporary Protected Status (TPS), Asylum, Family Based Petitions and Family Preparedness Clinics.

Help Center
The 7th Judicial District Court Help Center was established to assist the growing number of unrepresented litigants in our court system. As an integral part of NYS Unified Court System’s “Access to Justice” initiative, the Court Help Center in collaboration with JustCause and pro bono attorneys assist litigants with the information procedures necessary to use the courts effectively and adequately access justice.
JustCause Attorney Volunteers can sign up for a shift at the Help Center using the Help Center Volunteer SIgn Up Form.

Family
Our Family Law Unit provides comprehensive legal assistance to low-income survivors of domestic violence in Monroe County. Through a panel of skilled volunteer attorneys, we offer a range of services—including legal advice, brief services, and extended representation—tailored to meet the needs of each client, based on factors such as case complexity and available resources.
We assist individuals in a variety of family law matters, including divorce, custody, visitation, child and spousal support, and Orders of Protection.

Consumer
JustCause’s Consumer Law Unit works on cases affecting individuals' income, debts, and ability to keep their homes. Our Consumer Law Unit also works on matters affecting individuals' rights.
Debt Management Advice Clinic
Individuals who are experiencing debt problems are served by JustCause’s Debt Management Advice Clinic. This clinic is held every month beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Micro-Entrepreneur
The Micro-entrepreneur Pro Bono Project (MPBP) provides legal assistance to low income individuals who wish to start or develop businesses in economically distressed neighborhoods, through representation by pro bono attorneys.
MPBP provides pro bono legal assistance to entrepreneurs on issues including, but not limited to: Choice of Entity, Incorporation, Contracts, Licenses or Permits, Insurance and other issues.

Housing
The Tenant Defense Program, a jointly-run program by the four legal service agencies in the Telesca Center for Justice which assists tenant’s by providing legal information, advice, and in certain situations, representation in courts throughout Monroe County. Wills & Future Planning
JustCause is dedicated to empowering City of Rochester residents by providing essential legal support, including assistance with creating wills, powers of attorney, health care proxies, and a variety of other critical legal documents that help protect their rights and secure their futures.

LGBTQ+
JustCause supports the LGBTQ+ community by offering legal assistance for name changes, helping individuals align their legal identity with who they are. Services include guidance through the legal process and access to resources.
